Jaipur The Pink City

  Pink City Jaipur December 20, 2020                                                            Hawa Mahal, Jaipur First things first,  Jaipur is called the Pink City because  of the orangish pinkish brick reddish b uildings that build the Pink City up.  When you look from FAR FAR away, you see a little series of tiny Pink houses hence the term “Pink City”. Jaipur, capital of Rajasthan, India, was founded by Maharaja  Sawai Jai Singh II  on November 18, 1727. Maharaja  Sawai Jai Singh II  was a Kachwaha Rajput who ruled Jaipur from 1699 to 1743. Prior to Jaipur, his capital was Amber which is 11 km away from Jaipur. Jaipur, India the first planned city out of India is known as The Pink City. But why? Answer: when the Prince of Wales and Queen Victoria announced their visit in 1876, the King of Jaipur, Maharaja Ram Singh, mandated that the city be painted its now-famous reddish-pink hue.   India is incredible. It is very difficult to know about the vast country and its heritage and beautiful places to travel to. It will take a lifetime for someone to travel across India. I am starting a series -  places that one must visit  in different months.  Friends, in my last blog  Pink City-Jaipur  I had given brief details about Jaipur, Rajasthan.  Here, I am going to tell my dear friends who are willing to travel but hesitate, as regards to the details of the places - the activities, major attractions, getting there, buying things, food and so on.  Beginning the series with the month of January 2021. 1.        Munnar -   ‘Kashmir’ of South India                                                                                 Tea Plantations- Munnar Munnar  is a town and hill station located in the Idukki district of the southwestern Indian state of Kerala.  It is situated at around 1,600 meters (5,200 ft) above mean sea in the Western Ghats mountain range. Munnar is also called
